Kylie Casino
Choreographer

Kylie Casino is thrilled to be back at Weathervane after 12 years! Originally an Akron native, she trained pre-professionally with Northeast Ohio Dance and the Dance Institute of The University of Akron. She continued her training with The University of Akron’s dance department, where she was given the opportunity to perform choreography by noted professionals, such as Amy Miller, MaryAnn Black, and Paul Taylor. In the theatre world, she held featured dancing roles in productions of Pippin and Damn Yankees and acted as a Storyteller and Older Karana in Island of The Blue Dolphins. She previously served as a choreographer at Weathervane for productions of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and The Music Man. After graduating with her BA in Dance and dancing professionally, Kylie realized she wished to continue her education. She went on to graduate with an MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts with a focus in Dance from Goddard College in 2016. Since moving to Columbus, Georgia, she's choreographed and directed productions for The Columbus Ballet, collaborated with Schwob Percussion Ensemble, worked with East Alabama Community Ballet, and most recently produced and directed an original show, Myths, Legends and Folklore. She currently teaches at Columbus State University Youth Dance Conservatory, having students secure spots in pre-professional dance programs and accept awards. She has also received acclaim for her creation of various dance curriculums and lesson plans. When not doing something dance-related, Kylie can be found spending time with her husband, Jamie, her stepdaughter, Asher, and her 13 furbabies.
