From the Director

When I was first approached to direct Weathervane’s production of “THE COLOR PURPLE”, I was taken back and could not help but feel a bit overwhelmed because I was also serving as the productions Scenic Designer.  What a challenge!! THE COLOR PURPLE is an inspiring saga that tells the  story of a woman who, through love, finds the strength to triumph over adversity and discover her unique voice in the world over a span of 40 years.

I have designed scenery for this production twice. My chief concern is making sure that I am doing justice to the production. From auditions to rehearsals this show keeps my thoughts moving, it seem like every time I go through the script, it all seems to be brand new. As the director I have to set course in one solid direction uniting all facets of production Scenery, Lighting, and Costumes. I think that the audiences will enjoy the decisions that I and the production team have made. I remain honored to be involved with this production. Please sit back relax and enjoy “THE COLOR PURPLE”
