Michael Slane is joining the Weathervane family following 20 years of teaching college and university theatre. He holds degrees from Ohio University, The University of Kentucky and Otterbein College. He was most recently a member of the faculty at The University of Guam. UOG is on the island of Guam, which is a U.S. Territory in the Pacific/Micronesia. Over his six years on the island, he taught a wide variety of theatre courses and designed and built numerous shows including Rashomon, The Cruicible, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike and Twelfth Night. He also directed Barefoot in the Park, Proof and two children's musicals, Polkadots and The True Story of the Big Bad Wolf. Other schools Michael taught at were Westminster College, Huntington University, Ohio University and Lockhaven University. Michael is looking forward to the next chapter of his “life in the arts” here at Weathervane Playhouse and is glad to be back in Northeast Ohio close to family and friends.
