Laura Niehaus
Properties Designer

Laura Niehaus (She/Her) is excited to be also working backstage for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.  Outside of the theater, she works for BRAV0 (Buckeye Region Anti Violence Organization), a division of Equitas Health. BRAVO focuses on serving survivors of violence from the LGBTQIA+ community. Laura provides cultural humility training, prevention, outreach, and education in an attempt to reduce harm and increase inclusion and access to care for survivors from this community. She used her experiences confronting real-world bigotry and ignorance to inform her portrayal of this story's villain. Laura hopes that the message of The Prom will inspire everyone to love and care for each other a little better. Her past shows include Weathervane's Matilda, Sister Act, 8x10: The Eileen Moushey TheatreFest, Clue, Alias Grace, Tommy, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Bye Bye Birdie, It Shoulda Been You, and many more. Laura also enjoys spending her time with the design teams – making props, painting murals, and doing whatever odd tasks they find for her. Laura wants to thank her mom, who (despite also being a super-involved past PTA president) modeled acceptance, love, and inclusion.
