Josh Wechsler is a passionate and versatile arts educator, director, and voice teacher with over 20 years of experience guiding students through every stage of their artistic development. He brings a holistic, student-centered approach to his work, integrating acting, voice, music direction, and production to empower young artists not just to perform, but to thrive.
Josh is the co-founder and director of the Pre-Professional Company at ZACH Theatre, where he built a nationally recognized program with a 100% college acceptance rate. Under his co-leadership, the program has produced alumni who are working on Broadway, national tours, regional theaters, and in arts education across the country. His creative vision and dedication have earned multiple awards, including the Heller Award for Best Production.
Beyond directing, Josh is a sought-after voice teacher known for his individualized approach and deep understanding of the voice as both instrument and emotional vehicle. He also teaches movement and wellness practices, drawing from his certifications as a yoga teacher and meditation guide to help performers find freedom, breath, and balance in their artistry.
At the heart of Josh’s work is a commitment to creating inclusive, high-expectation spaces where students are seen, challenged, and celebrated—not only as performers, but as people. His work reflects a lifelong love of storytelling, music, and connection, and he is proud to nurture the next generation of confident, skillful, and compassionate artists.
