Digital Dramaturgy Packet

We are delighted to offer you access to this wonderful resource! Some might ask, what is a dramaturg? What is dramaturgy? It's not a common word outside of the theatre, but you will always see a dramaturg credited in your playbill. Dramaturgs are experts in the study of plays, musicals, or operas. It is their job to provide the cast and crew with vital knowledge, research, and interpretation about the theatrical work in question so that they are—in turn—better equipped to do their jobs.

The dramaturg for our production of Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird is James Monaghan, former Dramaturg at the Asolo Repertory Theatre, now Programs Manager at The Hermitage Artist Retreat. He has graciously agreed to share his comprehensive dramaturgy website with you. We hope you will enjoy this resource and even share your thoughts with us in the comments section. Thank you and happy reading.
