I love to laugh!to come

I love to laugh!

When Paul Stroili brought his one man show, Straight Up With A Twist, to the Kweskin Theatre several years ago, I laughed my you-know-what off every night. And in the early days of the pandemic, his daily videos made my wife and I laugh every morning, waiting to see what he created.

With that in mind, there was no doubt for me that this play would be wonderful. As soon as I read it, I knew it would be perfect for our audiences and in the Dressing Room Theatre. I wasn't alone because since it's premiere last summer, critics have sung the praises of A JUKEBOX FOR THE ALGONQUIN.

Having been blessed with a very active senior citizen mother (she lived to 102+) I knew that people at a senior center could, would and should be lively and fun to watch. Paul took it a little further and adds his own brand of observational humor which I know you'll enjoy.

Getting old is inevitable - acting old should be avoided at all costs and that's why I like to find humor in my every day life. Whoever coined the phrase, "laughter is the best medicine" will be glad you're filling your prescription with us.

One thing that is no laughing matter is the effect changes at the state and federal level are having on our operating budget. That's why we're hosting a Gala Fundraising event with the star of FUNNY GIRL (and more) on Broadway, Julie Benko, on May 31 at the Norwalk Concert Hall.

For now, enjoy your time with the inhabitants of Placid Pines!
