Executive Director's Welcome

Welcome to our 35th season and the beginning of my 26th season as Executive Director here!

Those of us older than about 30 are likely to remember exactly where we were on the morning of September 11, 2001. Many of us had direct links to lives lost, and, for some, those losses are still profoundly felt 24 years later.

But while 9/11 is the reason and backdrop for the story you're here to see, tonight - as we honor what was lost, we also commemorate what we have found.

The people of Gander, Newfoundland, opened their homes and hearts to nearly 7,000 strangers. Many of those people have stayed friends based on the bonds of humanitarian greatness they experienced during that terrible time. And those same people of Gander are still welcoming people - one of our actors, Dina Dessner - just visited and was greeted by several of the "real" people depicted in this show. They are an amazing community.

I hope your time with us tonight will remind you of the good within us all. If nothing else, 9/11 taught us that we could rise above the worst of humanity with open hearts. I am honored to be on stage telling this story and living these moments each night with our amazing team.

To everyone involved, please accept my immense thanks, as you all know this is likely the most complex project we've ever worked on.

Our entire season (nearly 200 performances!) is listed in this program. We hope you'll come back and see some of the shows we have on tap. Our five, seven and 10-ticket FLEX PASSES, offer significant savings (and restaurant discounts), and more, making regular attendance here very reasonable indeed.

We also have some very exciting special events coming up, too. Sign up for our newsletter to stay up to date by clicking here

For now, enjoy COME FROM AWAY!

Sincerely,

Lou Ursone
