Executive Director's Welcome

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Welcome to the second half of our season!

While planning the season, I always try to find a balance between new and old, comedy and drama, musical etc..  THE LION IN WINTER is one that fits many categories. I first saw this show many, many years ago and I loved it immediately.  I've even produced here once before, but since it's so great, I wanted to work on it again. While there are some very dramatic and somber moments, the humor cuts through like the axe on a royal beheading.

Many of you may be familiar with the successful film version of the play - but the play did come first. And while the film is universally hailed as fabulous, I almost always prefer a live theatrical presentation.

Some of the "new things" ahead are next month's URINETOWN, ANASTASIA, and MY MOTHER & THE MICHIGAN/OHIO WAR. Arthur Miller's A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE and the classic American musical, GUYS AND DOLLS, round out the second half of the season, so I hope I'll see you here regularly.

For now, welcome to England in 1183. Let's hope you'll keep your heads about you!

THANK YOU AGAIN FOR JOINING US!
