Executive Director's Welcome

WHAT'S IN A NAME?

My first exposure to Arthur Miller was seeing THE PRICE outside on the lawn where we now do our Shakespeare on the Green program . . . I was 13! In the years since, I have seen, and/or produced, almost every one of his major stage works - my personal favorite: ALL MY SONS! (A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE is my number 2.)

This play began as a one-act verse drama in 1955 and was later developed into the full, two-act version we have today. Growing up in an Italian American household where family was everything, I completely understood and related to the idea of taking in a niece and bringing two cousins in to help them better themselves. My dad's generation had a few similar instances...one leads back to my personal involvement with planning the season, I always try to find a balance between new and old, comedy and drama, musical etc..  I think it's important to include classic American drama as often as we can and I hope you agree.

As the weather starts to warm and the days begin to lengthen, we have much more on tap for you here. The next three shows in our main stage season are:  ANASTASIA, The Musical, MY MOTHER AND THE MICHIGAN/OHIO WAR, and GUYS AND DOLLS. I hope we'll see you here for them all.

In the meantime, I hope you can support Curtain Call with a contribution on WORLD THEATRE DAY, March 27. Since the elimination of Fairfield County's GIVING DAY, this is one way of helping us make up for that significant loss in funding. (You can donate right now if you like and it will be counted toward that day...click here.

THANK YOU AGAIN FOR JOINING US!
