Executive Director's Welcome

"More I Cannot Wish You..."
Guys and Dolls - Act 2

The first time I saw Guys and Dolls was when I was in high school and it became an immediate favorite! What's not to love? Great music, great dance numbers and an incredibly funny book. The original Broadway production ran for 1,200 performances and it has been revived three times since. Its popularity is evident in the fact that a week before opening, we were 95% sold out, including having added an extra performance already.

When the curtain comes down on this great show, so ends our 35th anniversary season - another year made possible by you. To paraphrase a song from another favorite show (City of Angels) "We're nothing with you," because no matter how great the show is, without you, our friends and fans, we're nothing.

The entire theatre industry has struggled for years - no more so than coming through the pandemic period which vastly changed peoples' viewing habits. You may be aware that  after 50 years of great programming, our colleagues at the Downtown Cabaret Theatre in Bridgeport will be closing for good at the end of June! The Seven Angels theatre in Waterbury just announced the cancellation of their next show due to financial concerns, but hopefully, they will be able to weather this current storm. In CT alone, we have seen too many theatres close over the past 10 years. But we're still here.

Looking ahead, we have a season of 11 shows scheduled for the 2026-2027 season - seven of which have never played here before. And yes, we have another classic Broadway musical like this one - Hello, Dolly - scheduled for next April.

Our current Flex Pass subscribers have already started booking - the general public may start beginning June 9. Keep an eye on our website (www.curtaincallinc.com) and book your seats.

As always, your generosity is what keeps our lights burning brightly. A gift of any size means a lot to us and will help keep Curtain Call going for another 35 years and beyond.

I look forward to seeing you here on the lawn for our annual free Shakespeare on the Green program next month. A Midsummer Night's Dream will play July 9 - 19. And our 36th annual Summer Youth Theatre production of Charlie & The Chocolate Factory will play August 6 -15. We also have a free, special sensory friendly performance scheduled for August 13. Call us for details.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BEING HERE!
More I cannot wish you than a joyous summer of 2026!
Enjoy the show.

Cast Biographies

Seth Barkan (Calvin, Mission Band) Seth is thrilled to return to the Kweskin stage at Curtain Call. Most recently, he appeared in Godspell with The St. Catherine’s Players. Seth has been involved in numerous productions throughout Fairfield County; some of his favorites include A Christmas Story, Elf the Musical, Damn Yankees, Newsies, and Crossing Delancey with Curtain Call; Chicago with The Wilton Play Shop; Disaster! The Musical with Carriage House Arts Center; and Annie with The St. Catherine’s Players. Seth would like to thank Lauren, Lou, and Zach for the opportunity to be part of this wonderful production. As always, love to his very supportive wife.

Ryan Barker (Joey Biltmore, Crapshooter) Ryan is thrilled to be rolling the dice with Curtain Call for the first time! Fittingly, Guys and Dolls holds a special place in his heart - it was his very first show, where he first took the stage as Benny Southstreet. Previous favorite roles include Anything Goes (Moonface Martin), Fiddler on the Roof (Tevye), and ensemble performances in West Side Story, Hair, and Sweet Charity. A proud Stamford resident and musician, Ryan can usually be found playing a different kind of fugue - on French Horn, not for tinhorns.

Catie Capolongo (Hot Box Dancer) Catie is joyfully returning to the stage after a seven-year hiatus! At Providence College, she performed as Sheriff Reynolds in Bat Boy, Jack’s Mother in Into the Woods, and in supporting roles in Almost, Maine and The Addams Family. In high school, she appeared as Nancy in Oliver!, Bonnie in Anything Goes, the Pharaoh in Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Randolph McAfee in Bye Bye Birdie. Her favorite role remains the Sour Kangaroo in Seussical the Musical. Catie is honored and thrilled to return as a Hot Box Dancer alongside such an incredible cast at Curtain Call Theatre!

Lynn Carbino  (Agatha) Lynn is thrilled to finally step into the spotlight in her first-ever Curtain Call musical—fashionably late, of course. She’s no stranger to the stage, having appeared in 14 shows with the St. Catherine’s Players, including favorite roles as Mrs. Potts in Beauty and the Beast, Mrs. Darling in Peter Pan, and Mrs. Mayer in Seussical the Musical. By day, Lynn is an Oncology Nurse Navigator at Greenwich Hospital, which means tech week barely fazes her. Endless love to the cast, crew, her incredibly patient husband Frank, and her amazing daughters, Sam and Ryan.

David Chuba (Society Max) Officially completing the gauntlet, David is proud to say he’s been a part of all five musicals in the 2025-2026 Curtain Call season. He’s run out of things to say in these bios of substance, so instead he wished to tell all readers to smile, laugh, and give their best applause to the fabulous performers, crew members, and production team that has worked tirelessly to end this season with a classic. Peace, Love, & Tollite.

Tom Cleary (Nathan Detroit) The Shawshank Redemption, Witch, One Man, Two Guvnors at TPNC; The Oxford Roof Climber’s Rebellion, Urban Stages; Machinal, Riverside Theatre; Clothes For A Summer Hotel, White Horse; Arcadia, Greenwich Street Theatre; Mad Forest, Hudson Guild Theatre (NYIT Award nomination); Three Sisters, Chocolate Factory; What the Butler Saw, The House of Blue Leaves, Urinetown (NYIT Award winner) at Gallery Players; A Man For All Seasons, Twelfth Night, PA Shakespeare Festival; Tin Pan Alley Rag, Wilma Theatre (Barrymore Award nomination); Purlie, Freedom Theatre (Barrymore Award nomination); South Pacific, Coastal Carolina. Film/TV: Six Degrees, Guiding Light, Choose, Jersey Girl, Clan McCormack (Cannes Film Festival). tomcleary.com.

Clint Clifford (Benny Southstreet) Clint returned to musical theater in 2021 after a 38-year hiatus. In an earlier life, credits included National Tours of South Pacific and La Mancha (w/ Richard Kiley) and the 1st National of They’re Playing Our Song (Victor Garber understudy). Since coming out of theatrical hibernation, Curtain Call roles include the con-man Vlad in our recent production of Anastasia, Max in Sound of Music, Narrator in Into the Woods, Maraczek in She Loves Me, and smaller roles in 1776 and Fiddler. Recently, he had leads in Fairfield Center Stage productions of Annie (Warbucks) and A Christmas Carol (Scrooge).

Bruce Crilly (Nicely Johnson) This production marks Bruce’s 3rd time performing one of his favorite roles in one of his favorite musicals. Prior to this, he has performed as actor and singer mainly in NJ, NY, and CT for more years than he would care to admit. Though he has made appearances with a few other local theater companies, he has made Curtain Call his theater home since 2011 appearing in such roles as The Beadle in Sweeney Todd, Miles Gloriosus in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Coach in Damn Yankees, Santa in Elf, Brother Jeremiah in Something Rotten, Dickenson in 1776, Teddy, in Arsenic and Old Lace, and Evelyn Oakley in Anything Goes. Bruce has also appeared in Curtain Call’s Shakespeare on the Green as Prospero in The Tempest, Kent in King Lear, and Master Ford in The Merry Wives of Windsor.  “Many thanks to Lou for providing these opportunities and to my wife Vicky for her love and encouragement.”

Celine DeMatteo (Mission Band, Ensemble) Celine is excited to be making her Curtain Call debut. In a full circle moment, Guys and Dolls was the first (and only) musical she was part of in high school. She has sung in several choirs over the years, most recently Greenwich Choral Society and the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Northern Westchester Choir. She was inspired by her children to take on musical theater and was over the moon to be in St. Catherine's Players' Godspell (Ensemble) with her entire nuclear family. In real life, she plays an ICU doctor specializing in neurologic emergencies.

Joseph DeMatteo (Rusty Charlie) Joseph is thrilled to be making his Curtain Call debut in Guys and Dolls. He has previously played Hickory/the Tin Man in The Wizard of Oz and George in Godspell, both with St. Catherine's Players. A graduate of New England Conservatory where he studied Jazz Percussion, he is no stranger to the stage and enjoys hamming it up. Though truly in his element playing the drums, Joseph has flexed his acting and singing chops over the years. He has written and co-produced original music as part of the collaborative Tul!p. Joseph lives in Greenwich, CT with his children and wife who tolerate him as best as they can.

Tommy DeSalvo (Harry The Horse) Tommy is thrilled to be back on the Curtain Call stage performing with such a fun cast and production team. Tommy was last seen as Moonface Martin in Anything Goes and an ensemble member in Spongebob at Curtain Call last spring. Tommy is on the Board at Curtain Call and has been involved in many shows here both on stage as well as being on the production team. Tommy will be directing Curtain Call's production of All Shook Up next season. Tommy is Controller at Childcare Learning Centers of Fairfield County, Inc. as well as the Advisor/Director of Stamford High School's Strawberry Hill Players where he just directed Cinderella. Tommy would like to thank Lauren for her direction on this production as well as being the reason he ever got into theatre back in middle school. He would also like to shout out Andrea for getting back on stage and for making it the 4th time the two of them have been in this show together. Finally, he would like to thank his friends and family for their constant love and support.

Eli Donahue (Crapshooter) Eli is so excited to be performing in another show at Curtain Call where he has previously appeared in SpongeBob SquarePants (Larry the Lobster/Ensemble), Mystic Pizza (Ensemble), and several Summer Youth Theatre productions. Additional selected performances include: Seussical (Horton the Elephant), Annie (Oliver Warbucks), Anything Goes (Elisha Whitney), Chicago (Amos Hart), Legally Blonde (Callahan), and Mean Girls (Damian Hubbard). He would like to thank his family, his vocal instructors Christina Kampler and McKayla Ferguson, the cast, crew, and production team.

Chris Faccenda (Angie the Ox) Chris is so excited to be a part of Guys and Dolls. Last time you may have seen him on the Curtain Call Stage was in 2025 as a member of the Electric Skates in Spongebob Squarepants. Other Credits include Godspell (Judas), Wizard of Oz (Scarecrow), and Beauty & The Beast (Lumiere) all with the St. Catherine's Players in Greenwich, CT. Thank you to this amazing creative team, as well as his family and friends for their love and support.

Amy Guttman (Mission Band, Ensemble) Amy is thrilled to be making her debut at Curtain Call!  Introduced to Broadway by her beloved mother at age six, her love for musical theater began. Amy played the alto saxophone in a renowned jazz band performing throughout Europe, at Disneyland, and in Berklee School of Music competitions. She also sang at her own wedding! She is a former proud parent and current production team member for the Stamford All-School Musical. Amy thanks her kids and husband for encouraging her to take those epic car performances to the stage! Congratulations to the talented cast, crew and production team!

Bill King (Sky Masterson) Bill is thrilled to return to the stage, bringing a decade of theatrical and vocal experience to this production. A graduate of the University of Connecticut, he most recently appeared as Rodolpho in A View from the Bridge and Tony in Master Class. As a trained operatic tenor, he has refined his technique through the Jacobs School of Music and the Matthew Surapine Studio. Other favorite credits include the Courier in 1776.

James Kolman (Crapshooter) James is a 12th grader at AITE and this is his 11th musical. Some previous shows include All-School Musical’s Something Rotten!, FDR in Annie. He appeared in Northstar Playmaker’s Mean Girls (Kevin G). and Chicago (MC), and Seussical as Mr. Mayor, along with SYTs Holiday Inn. James cannot wait for this performance of Guys and Dolls, James wants to thank Zach, Jan, Kelly, Lauren, and all volunteers who have helped put this lovely show together

Rachel Lese (Mission Band, Ensemble) Rachel is so excited to be doing Guys and Dolls! This comes almost 10 years after their first appearance in the show, where they played a crapshooter. Their most recent roles include Apostle Rachel in Godspell, Ensemble in Spongebob the Musical, Glinda in The Wizard of Oz, featured ensemble/trio in Tootsie, and Ceres in the Tempest! When not doing theater (which isn't very often), Rachel loves to read and play video games (if you see them, ask them about any romance or fantasy, and they'll have recs!). They hope you enjoy the show!

Nancy Leville (Sarah Brown) Nancy is thrilled to be back on the Curtain Call stage as Sarah Brown! Recent credits include The Sound of Music (Maria), Mystic Pizza (Jojo) and Into The Woods (Florinda). Nancy has also performed Off-Broadway and at The Metropolitan Opera.
