Passion.  Innovation.  Exploration.

Connection.  Excellence.

These are some of the hallmarks of the artistic enterprise -- they are also central to the mission of the College of Lake County in providing,"equitable, high-quality education, cultural enrichment and partnerships to advance the diverse communities [we] serve." Indeed, the Communication Arts division is committed to providing transformative learning experiences all Lake County residents. We believe the arts are fundamental to this transformation.

We're proud to offer a diverse range of artistic, intellectual and cultural experiences -- including music, dance, theatre, gallery exhibitions, film series, literary readings and a host of scholarly and cultural presentation.

We also invite you to explore our many outstanding courses in literature, creative writing, film studies, digital media and design and the visual and performing arts that enable students to experience personal exploration and growth. Please visit www.clcillinois.edu/campus-life/arts for information on these educational offerings and the exciting events planned for the 2022-23 season.

My Best Friends Foundation

My Best Friends Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which was founded to raise money and provide support for those that need it while fighting cancer, and to provide support for families who have lost someone to cancer. This Foundation was created out of tragedy but with one goal – to be a Friend to anyone dealing with cancer.

Early in the Covid pandemic, our founder, Megan Wittig, lost her husband to cancer. 10 years earlier, she lost her best friend to breast cancer. She chose hope over grief and started this foundation to help those impacted by cancer. When her husband was diagnosed with melanoma, he chose to make everyday count – in some way. This idea is the basis of the vision of our Foundation.

Making each day count through acts of kindness to support those impacted by cancer.

Our Mission is simple: To cultivate friendships and build a community to serve those impacted by cancer with personal, emotional, and/or financial support throughout their journey.

The assistance that we can give to families can be essential in their journey. If you want to refer someone, please fill out a referral form
