After performing on stages in more than 50 countries, Las Migas—four-time Latin Grammy nominees and winners in 2022 and 2025—return with Flamencas, a vibrant comeback to the purest and most traditional roots of the genre, while maintaining the personality and freshness that have established them as one of the most outstanding and internationally recognized acts in contemporary flamenco.
With an evolution in their musical language, Flamencas is a tribute to the purity of flamenco, interpreted through a fresh, free, contemporary, and empowered perspective. Cante, toque, and compás blend with carefully crafted arrangements and a modern sensibility, alongside powerful lyrics in which the quartet seeks to challenge classic male stereotypes within flamenco. The result is a live performance with a striking visual narrative, presented from a free, contemporary, and empowered perspective.
With over 20 years of musical career and six studio albums, Las Migas have established themselves as one of Spain’s most internationally acclaimed bands. They have performed in more than 50 countries, including the United States, India, France, Egypt, Mexico, Cuba, Italy, Namibia, Jamaica, Algeria, Hong Kong, Germany, Chile, Sweden, Ukraine, and Morocco, among many others. They have been nominated four times for the Latin Grammy Award in the Best Flamenco Album category (2016, 2022, 2024, and 2025), winning the award in both 2022 and 2025. They also received the prestigious Spanish MIN Award in 2019 and 2023 for their albums Rumberas and Libres.
In May 2025, Las Migas released their latest album Flamencas, a project that pays tribute to the essence and purity of flamenco while reimagining it through a distinctly contemporary lens. The album is supported by a strong visual identity, already showcased in the music video for Celos, directed by renowned fashion photographer Javier Biosca. Flamencas is produced by Sebastian Merlin (Jorge Drexler, Rozalén), alongside Marta Robles and Oriol Riart, and features collaborations such as Grito with Tanxugueiras—key figures in the new Galician folk scene—in a track that transcends both musical and geographical boundaries. With Flamencas, Las Migas move beyond tradition to subtly challenge the historically male-dominated narratives of flamenco. Through lyrics centered on empowerment, identity, and emotional autonomy, the album reclaims the genre from a distinctly female perspective—one that is both intimate and unapologetically bold. Rather than breaking with flamenco, Flamencas expands it, opening space for new voices and redefining its emotional language for a contemporary audience.
Following an extensive 2024 North American tour with over 25 dates across the United States and Canada, the band continues to champion flamenco fusion with their upcoming 2025/26 world tour. Highlights include performances at iconic venues such as the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona, the prestigious Barcelona Jazz Festival, and the Gran Teatro Príncipe Pío in Madrid, alongside international appearances in the United Kingdom, Turkey, Vietnam, France, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Switzerland, Bulgaria, and Tunisia among many other countries.
Throughout their career, Las Migas have collaborated with a wide and diverse range of artists, including Estrella Morente, Viva Suecia, Rozalén, El Kanka, Kevin Johansen, Tomatito, Miguel Poveda, María Peláe, Raül Refree, Josemi Carmona, and Loli Molina—further reinforcing the exceptional musicality of this dynamic all-female ensemble, which has built a global audience of over one million followers on Instagram.
