The Louis Ballard Project
This concert is part of the The Louis Ballard Project, an initiative by the Fort Smith Symphony to promote the work of Quapaw-Cherokee composer and educator Louis Ballard and other living Indigenous composers. We are bringing Ballard’s music to chamber music concerts, elementary classrooms, and the orchestra stage. Our project culminates in April, 2023, when we will record a selection of Ballard’s orchestral works for commercial distribution through Naxos Records.
