Special acknowledgement to the cast, crew, & volunteers for donating their time towards all aspects of this theatrical production and anyone who jumped on board after this playbill went to print.
Love, Sex and the IRS was not on my bucket list of shows to Direct, but I'm not one to shy away from new opportunities...taking on this straight play was a delightful challenge and one I would gladly repeat. I’m a big fan of slapstick comedy, Mel Brooks comes to mind when I recall favorite movies or scenes. And the sometimes easily deduced storylines marry well with the physical comedy I enjoy so much! I wanted to incorporate that physicality into this production of Love, Sex and the IRS. This cast is talented and they expertly adapted to the use of their bodies as the “punchline.” You’ll notice plenty of great moments where simply the actor’s body or facial expression is doing all the work : )
This show really is a great little gem of a comedy and one I expect to see done with more frequency…It is most definitely a show you might go to see more than once as the story line is a familiar one (who doesn’t dread their yearly taxes!?) but the interpretation by both the production team and cast is diverse and unique!
I hope you enjoy our version of this “timeless” story!
One I think should be a yearly tradition too!
Now, go tell all your friends!
