Director's Letter

My earliest memory of theater was at the tender age of five. My parents had commandeered an old Grange Hall and had staged a series of Melodrama shows from it. Although the genre was no longer popular, it didn’t matter to them because they loved the history of it and they loved theater. From that time the seed was planted and over many years that seed blossomed into my own profound respect and passion for the theatrical arts.

As a director, set designer, and actor I’ve had the honor of bringing that passion to the shows I’ve worked on. Rocky Horror is one of my favorites. At a time when the world seems too fast, too angry, and too divisive, Rocky brings everyone together in a way that is seldom seen in theater owing to the fact that the audience is such an integral part of the production.

Everyone gets to play together – as it should be.

If I can provide a fleeting moment of escape for the patrons of this theater then I have done my job. The production you’ll see this evening is the result of the labors of many people; actors, producers, stage managers, tech crew, scenic painters, costumers, photographers, graphic designers, carpenters, musical directors, choreographers, and many more. Each and every one is an artist in their own right. To all involved, I give my sincere thanks. It is my hope that perhaps I may have even planted a seed or two.

Peace,

Christopher Ryan, Director
