The Witch of Wellfleet
Lyrics and Music by Kyra Green

A maiden stepped across the shore
Stepping lightly on golden sand
Til’ Black Sam sailed into shire

Fearless and charming

Once his eyes laid upon her gaze
Halley thought she had fallen
So, she gave Sam her heart

When Sam had swept her up off her feet,
Galleys heart filled with joy
So she made a plan for Sam to meet
Her parents shed ploy

Once they stepped foot into the house
They didn’t take kindly
They screamed « take this pirate back to sea, the devil he’ be! »

Sam and his love wept tears of blue
Wiped from their eyes
Though Sam has a plan to win their blessing
With a treasure that hides in the sea

So Sam, he took to seas

The witch of Wellfleet was born when the town had exiled her
Hallet was banished as she bore Sam’s child
She waited by shore for her king to return
Abandoned by her own lover

Without a last word
« A betrayal! » she concurred
As she fueled her fire with hatred

The witch of Wellfleet sought to take down Sam at night
With brews, she conjures up a plan to sink his ship
As he called to men up on the deck he saw a storm
The witch appeared and swore she’d made him fall

Then Black Sam went down with his ship

I would like to dedicate and honor my mother, Lisa Green, my father, Ronald Green, and brother, Hunter Green, for continuously supporting my musical career. Their love and support has guided me through my bachelors degree, and for that I will be forever grateful. I wanted to especially thank my mother, Lisa Green, for all the time and energy she sacrificed so that I may pursue my passion. Without her support, none of this would be possible.

I would like to thank the rest of my family and friends, for years of encouragement and support. I would also like to thank my cats, Celeste, Dusty, and Spotty for being my muses.
