One of the most outstanding Uzbeki pianists of her generation, Nargiza Kamilova began her studies at age six at the Special Musical School of V. A. Uspensky, with teachers Charita Borisovna and G. H. Guliamova, graduating at age 17, with honors awarded by the Academy. Subsequently, she completed specialization studies at the M. Ashrafi Conservatory in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, obtaining in 2002 the titles of Master Concertist, Master Accompanist and Master of Chamber Music, under the guidance of teachers Gulzamon and H. Guliamova in piano; Malika Kasimova in accompaniment, and Nikolai Bukin in chamber music.
During her time in Uzbekistan, she participated in the Kazakhstan International Competition, “The Musician of the 21st Century,” obtaining 4th Place; “Chopin Festival,” organized by the Tashkent Conservatory in coordination with the Polish government, obtaining the Prize for Best Performance of Chopin's Music; “International Violin Competition” in the Czech Republic, obtaining the diploma as “Best Accompanist of the Contest." In 2002, she was invited to play as a soloist with the Uzbeki Philharmonic Orchestra. As a concert artist, she has performed in the best concert halls in Uzbekistan, the Czech Republic, Kazakhstan, Japan, and Mexico. Her interest in contemporary music has led her to participate in the interpretation and premieres of works by Uzbeki and Mexican composers, as well as the recording of two albums with works by composers from Nuevo León.
In 2013, together with the cellist Serguei Trush, they were invited by the Japanese Embassy in Mexico to perform a concert in Tokyo. Her presentations include chamber music with soloists and world ensembles in different festivals and emblematic concerts such as the flutist Clara Novakova at the International Flute Festival of the Higher School of Music and Dance of Monterrey; the Russian violinist Alexander Markov, within the concerts organized by PARNASOS; the Mexican cellist Carlos Prieto, within the International Festival of Contemporary Music ¨Música Nueva;¨ the Mexican cellist Álvaro Bitrán, in different festivals and concerts; Sofía String Quartet, within the concerts organized by PARNASOS; Latin American Quartet, within the Santa Lucía Festival; UANL Symphony Orchestra performing Beethoven's triple concerto; concert at Texas State University Brownsville campus; among others. She is currently a piano teacher and a higher-level accompanist teacher at the Higher School of Music and Dance of Monterrey, and she also carries out her work as one of the most active concert pianists in the Mexican State of Nuevo León.
Violinist Miroslav Hristov was hailed by Fanfare Magazine for his “razor sharp technique” and a “full palette of tonal colors.” He presents master classes and performs extensively throughout the United States, Europe, Latin America, and Asia. As a soloist and chamber musician, he has performed in several international festivals and concert series, including the Musical Treasures series in Carnegie Hall, the Interharmony International Music Festival in Arcidosso, Italy, the Sofia Music Weeks International Festival, the Balabanov House Music Days, the Big Arts Concert Series in Florida, and the Fredell Lack Series in Houston, Texas. Recent performances include solo and chamber performances in the national recital halls of Taiwan and Singapore. Hristov was First Prize winner of the Dobrin Petkov International Violin Competition and a prize winner for the MTNA Collegiate String Performance Competition.
Hristov has recorded for Centaur Records, Romeo Records, Blue Griffin Records, the Divine Arts Record label, Bulgarian National Radio and WUOT Knoxville. His recordings have been broadcast on NPR stations across the country. As part of the internationally-acclaimed Kaleidos Duo with pianist, Vladimir Valjarevic, Dr. Hristov’s recordings and performances have received rave reviews from The Strad Magazine, Fanfare, DUMA (Sofia, Bulgaria), and Lucid Culture (New York).
Hristov has presented his research on Eastern European pedagogical methods for violin at conferences around the world, including the International College Music Society Conference, the American String Teachers Association National Conference, and the Music Teachers National Association Conference. A dedicated teacher, his students have won numerous competitions, and many hold prestigious scholarships and professional appointments. Recent teaching awards include the 2014 Tennessee Music Teachers Association Teacher of the Year, the Tennessee Governor’s School for the Arts Outstanding Teacher Award, and the University of Tennessee School of Music’s Faculty Distinguished Teaching Award.
Miroslav Hristov is also Founder and Director of the University of Tennessee’s Ready for the World Music Series, which brings renowned artists to perform and talk about musical styles and literature from diverse regions around the world, emphasizing each region’s contribution to western classical music.

Temenuzhka Ostreva began her musical studies at the age of 6 in her hometown of Rousse, Bulgaria. At age 8, she chose the cello as her main instrument. At 16, she performed for the first time as a soloist with the Philharmonic Orchestra of the city of Rousse.
In 1986, she obtained a master's degree in cello and chamber music with Professors Z. Yordanoff and E. Bozhinova at the National Academy of Music in Sofia, and in this same year, she was invited to teach at that institution. Ostreva was a professor at the Academy of Music until 1991. From 1991 to 1996, she was principal cellist of the New Bulgarian Opera with which she toured extensively throughout Europe, the United States, and Japan.
Since 1997, she has lived in Monterrey, Mexico where for 25 consecutive years, she served as principal cellist of the UANL Symphony Orchestra, retiring in November 2022. She is currently a cello teacher and coordinator of strings at the School Superior of Music and Dance of Monterrey.
Temenuzhka Ostreva has won several prizes in national and international competitions, including the grand prize and gold medal in the 7th Svetoslav Obretenov National Competition in1980, and in 1982, the first prize and the gold medal in the eighth edition of the same, but this time in the adult category. In 1983, she won two more first prizes: at the cello competition in honor of Prof. Sugarev, and at the “Golden Diana” Chamber Music Festival as a member of the Klavier Trio. In 1984, she received First Prize in the most important Bulgarian Competition, “All-Bulgarian Competition” in the cello category, and Second Prize in the Chamber Music category. In 1986, she obtained a semi-finalist diploma at the 8th International Tschaikovsky Competition held in Moscow.
Ostreva has an intense concert schedule: she has performed as a soloist with the Rousse Philharmonic, Bulgaria, with the Orchestra of the Academy of Music in Sofia, with the OSUANL, with the Guanajuato Orchestra, with the Valley Symphony Orchestra Texas, among others. She has participated as a recitalist and in different chamber music ensembles in the international festivals, “Musical Days of the Month of March” in Rousse, Bulgaria, “Santa Lucia,” “Parnassós,” “Sala Beethoven,” and "Alfoncino" in Monterrey, the seasons of Radio Nuevo León and Conarte, the Festivals of Coahuila, Tamaulipas, Del Desierto de San Luis Potosí, the UN Forum of the Americas, the Nuevo León Composers Festival, and numerous educational concerts with the purpose of bringing the classical music to the young people of Nuevo León. She has shared the stage with musicians such as Jean Luis Steuermann, Alexander Markov, Ophelie Galliarde, Carlos Prieto, Andreas Frölich, Cuauhtémoc Rivera, Alvaro Bitrán, Mirthala Salazar, Vanguel Tangarov, Nargiza Kamilova, and many others.
Ostreva is a founding member of the "Sofia" String Quartet, and later of the Colegio Civil String Quartet, which was created to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the remodeling of the building of said institution.
In 2009, together with the pianist Nargiza Kamilova, the Duo Kamos was formed, with which they have had very successful presentations in different forums and festivals. As a monumental project they have had, it was the presentation in two concerts of the complete work of Beethoven for a celebration of the 250th anniversary of his birth. Duo Kamos has shown interest in also exploring and presenting works by women composers.
Ostreva is the founder of the National High School Cello Competition in Mexico, whose first edition was in 2010 and remains the only active national competition in the country. She has been invited as a member of the jury of the VII National Chamber Music Competition in Mexico City 2011, and the String Quartet Competition of the Latin American Quartet in February 2017.
Her students stand out for their excellent preparation and are winners of numerous awards in national and international competitions. Ostreva has also specialized in the Suzuki methodology, of which he has all 10 levels of certification, and is teaching children from a very early age.
In 2017, she was awarded the UANL Arts Award for her artistic career.
