DR. WILLIAM (BILL) HAUGEBERG is the Associate Professor of Low Brass at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, where he teaches applied low brass students, low brass choir and other courses.
Bill has been a soloist and presenter at several festivals and is active in the International Trombone Association. Most recently, he performed at the 2022, 2021 and 2019 International Trombone festivals, including a solo recital and several chamber performances. Other festival performances have included the Big 12 Trombone Conference, South Texas Brass Symposium, Society of Composer’s Regional Conference, National Association of Collegiate Wind and Percussion Instruments National Conference, Texas Bandmasters Association Convention and the Texas Music Educator’s Association Convention.
As a soloist, Bill has been featured with the San Angelo Symphony Orchestra, Valley Wind Symphony, UTRGV Wind Symphony, Tarleton Wind Symphony, Florida State University Wind Symphony, Missouri State University Trombone Octet and other groups. In addition to these featured performances, Bill has given recitals and masterclasses at universities around the country.
Bill earned his Doctorate of Music from The Florida State University, Master of Music from The University of North Texas, and Bachelor of Music from The University of Alaska Fairbanks. Bill loves playing on his Willson Swissbone, and is a Willson Trombone Artist.
DR. JASON HAUSBACK serves as the Associate Professor of Trombone at Missouri State University. In addition to maintaining the trombone studio, he directs the Jazz Studies Ensemble II. Prior to his arrival at MSU, Jason was active as a teacher and a performer in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. He was both a Trombone and Jazz Teaching Fellow at the University of North Texas and while a member of the internationally-acclaimed One O’Clock Lab Band, the group recorded “Lab 2009,” which was nominated for two Grammy awards.
In 2008, Jason was the winner of the Eastern Trombone Workshop National Classical Bass Trombone Solo Competition, as well as the ITA Kai Winding Jazz Trombone Ensemble Competition. His trombone quartet “Bell Street Four” also won the 2008 ITA Quartet competition. Additionally, he enjoys travel and has had the opportunity to perform across the United States, as well as in Canada, Bolivia, Peru, Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, Spain, Austria, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, France, the Netherlands, England, Finland, and Thailand.
Jason is active as a freelancer throughout the mid-south region of the US and performs regularly with The Lone Star Wind Orchestra (TX), Symphony of Northwest Arkansas (AR), The Ozark Lyric Opera (MO), Ionic Brass Quintet (OK), and Fountain City Brass Band (KS). He has filled in with several notable orchestras including the East Texas Symphony, The Tulsa Symphony, The Kansas City Symphony, and the Dallas Opera Orchestra. He has performed solo and quartet recitals at universities and conferences throughout the US as well as in Colombia and Spain. He has also performed in the Southeast Trombone Symposium Professors Choir and in featured ensembles at several different International Trombone Festivals.
Jason has served on the staff of many prominent high school marching bands in Texas, including Marcus HS (2007-2015), Texas 5A/6A State champions five consecutive times. He has worked with several drum and bugle corps, including Capital Sound, the Madison Scouts, Spirit of Atlanta, the Boston Crusaders, and Phantom Regiment. Jason has also been active as an adjudicator for marching band, solo/ensemble and jazz competitions. Jason is President of the Missouri Music Teachers Association (2022-24) the state affiliate for MTNA, and is also the faculty advisor for the Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Iota Rho Chapter.
Jason holds the BM in Trombone Performance degree from the University of Wisconsin: Madison, and the MM and DMA degrees in Trombone Performance from the University of North Texas. His primary teachers include Rose Lewis, Dr. William Richardson, Dr. Vern Kagarice, Jan Kagarice, and Tony Baker. Jason is a S.E. Shires Performing Artist.
DR. AARON JENSEN is currently Assistant Professor of Trumpet at the University of Texas – Rio Grande Valley where he teaches trumpet and coaches chamber music. Prior to that he served as an adjunct faculty member at Tarleton State University. His students have gone on to attend both graduate and undergraduate programs and be performers throughout the United States and Europe. His students have competed and performed multiple times at the National Trumpet Competition and International Trumpet Guild conferences. In addition to his university teaching his students have been members of the TMEA All-State bands.
As a performer, Aaron performs with the 956 Brass, Session Brass Quintet, and was a founding member and artistic manager of the Eastside Brass Octet. As an orchestral performer, he frequently performs as a substitute musician with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, and has performed with the Monroe Symphony Orchestra, Symphony Arlington, the Fort Smith Symphony, Motown legends “The Four Tops”, the Denver Pops Orchestra, and the Red River Lyric Opera Festival. Aaron has performed and recorded with Grammy award winning “The Indigo Girls” as well as the University of North Texas Wind Symphony in addition to many other projects.
Dr. Jensen has served in various roles with the International Trumpet guild including conference reporter and recently completed his two and a half year tenure as Video Coordinator.
Dr. Jensen hold a doctorate from The University of North Texas, and holds degrees from the University of Colorado at Boulder (MM), Oklahoma State University (BM), and Snow College (AS).
Brian Walker is currently Professor of Trumpet at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas. His students have been accepted into many undergraduate and graduate music programs and currently perform in orchestras and premier military groups throughout the US. They have also been featured at the National Trumpet Competition and International Trumpet Guild Conferences as competitors and performers.
As a performer, he has appeared with various groups in the DFW region and is a member of the Allen Philharmonic and Richardson Symphony Orchestras. As a soloist, Dr. Walker has given recitals throughout the United States and in Greece, France, China and Brazil. He was featured as a soloist on the Tarleton State Wind Ensemble’s performance at Carnegie Hall in 2014 and this ensemble's performance at the Texas Music Educator Association Conference in 2022.
Brian is active in the International Trumpet Guild where he serves on the Board of Directors, on the Recording Projects Committee, Chairs the Conference Golf Scramble Scholarship Fundraiser Committee and ad-hoc committees as needed. Dr. Walker also serves as an adjudicator for the National Trumpet Competition and ITG Competitions and is an artist for the Conn-Selmer Corporation (Bach).
Dr. Walker holds degrees from the University of North Texas (DMA), The Florida State University (MM) and Southeastern Oklahoma State University (BM).
DR. ANGELA K. WINTER is an enthusiastic performer and educator currently serving as Assistant Professor Music, Horn and Director of Brass and Bands at Adams State University in Alamosa, CO. She has soloed, taught, and performed with a variety of ensembles throughout the United States, Mexico, Colombia and Europe.
Angela has also recorded extensively, with releases on Ravello Records, GIA Publications, Klavier, Crescent Phase Records, and Highland Sound Productions. Passionate about chamber music, she performs and clinics extensively with a variety of chamber ensembles including the Madera Wind Quintet and Session Brass.
Angela is originally from Memphis, TN, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in music education from the University of Memphis. She holds an M.M. and D.M.A. in horn performance from the University of North Texas, and has taught at the University of Texas at Dallas and Texas Woman's University as well as in in the public middle and high school system.
In addition to her musical activities, Angela is an extreme dog lover and runner. She has numerous rescue dogs and has run more than 60 marathons and ultra-marathons.
