Arisia Gilmore plays horn in orchestras and musical theater pits throughout southern Louisiana and Mississippi. She currently holds positions with the Acadiana Symphony, the Gulf Coast Symphony, Theatre Baton Rouge, and has been a sub with the Louisiana Philharmonic. Arisia is also the horn player in the Chamber Folk music group “Minos the Saint.” She was the Lecturer of Horn at Southeastern Louisiana University from 2012-2021, but now works full time as the Director of Audience Services and Special Events at Manship Theatre in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Arisia gets fired up about the horn and loves to share her passion with people of all ages, all over the world. She has been lucky enough to have performed in China, South Korea, England, France, Germany, and the Czech Republic.
Lin He made his Carnegie Hall solo debut in November 2014 after having previously performed there with members of the Metropolitan Opera, the New York Philharmonic, and the Philadelphia Orchestra. Over past seasons, he performed Beethoven’s Triple Concerto, Bruch’s Scottish Fantasy, and Violin Concertos by Beethoven, Brahms, Korngold, Mendelssohn, Mozart, Sibelius and Tchaikovsky. In addition, he has performed the complete violin sonatas by Beethoven, Brahms, Fauré, Mozart, and Schubert.
Mr. He has presented recitals at universities across the United States and China. Recently, he shared the stage with the Shanghai String Quartet and violinist Charles Castleman. In addition, he performed solo recitals and gave master classes in Canada, mainland China, Taiwan, and across the United States. As an orchestral player, he has performed with the Shanghai Symphony, Rochester Philharmonic, and the New World Symphony. Summer festival appearances have taken Mr. He to the Music Academy of the West, the Tanglewood Music Center, and the Aspen Music Festival.
Mr. He is now Associate Professor of Violin at Louisiana State University and is the Associate Concertmaster of the Baton Rouge Symphony. During the summer, he teaches at Sewanee Summer Music Festival. Mr. He received his doctorate from the Eastman School of Music, where he studied with Zvi Zeitlin. Other major influences include Steven Staryk, Sylvia Rosenberg, Kyung Sun Lee, and Paul Kantor. His website is www.linheviolin.com.
Young Kim is an Assistant Professor of Music at Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, TN where she teaches applied piano, music theory, music appreciation, and directs the LMU Choir. Young received a Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance with a minor in Music Theory from Louisiana State University where she studied with Dr. Willis Delony. She was the recipient of a teaching assistantship as well as a fellowship package that included the LSU Graduate School Enhancement Award and Supplement Award. As a masters student at the University of
Tennessee—Knoxville, Young was awarded a Graduate Student Travel Award, which funded travel to Birklehof, Germany to perform at the InterHarmony International Music Festival. As an undergraduate student at Tennessee Technological University, she received the Rose & O.C. Stewart Music Scholarship.
Competition accolades include being named the Winner of the Music Teachers National Association Young Artist Competition (Tennessee State Level) and Alternate of the Music Teachers National Association Young Artist Competition (Louisiana State Level). Young has adjudicated numerous competitions, including the DeBose National Piano Competition, Louisiana Music Teachers Association District Piano Rally in Shreveport, LA, the LSU Performing Arts Academy Bach & Sonatina Contests, and the Knoxville Music Teachers Association auditions. She has been inducted into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi and Pi Kappa Lambda.
