Dr. Kyle Blake Jones

Saxophonist, Dr. Kyle Jones (he/him) is a performer, teacher, and arts administrator. An advocate for new music, Kyle actively collaborates with composers and performers from various styles and genres. Kyle has commissioned and premiered works by composers including Anthony R. Green, Gabriela Ortiz, Spencer Arias, Evan Williams, Tyson Gholston Davis, and Peter Dayton. He has premiered these works at events across the country such as the North American Saxophone Alliance Conference, the Navy Band International Saxophone Symposium, DC New Music Festival, the International Clarinet Association ClarinetFest®, and other concert venues.

As a clinician, Kyle has been a guest artist at institutions including the University of Memphis, Columbus State University, the University of Texas-San Antonio, and the University of Kansas. He has also worked with high schools throughout the Midwest, South, and Texas.

In addition to his performing activities, Kyle serves as a Co-Director for Fast Forward Austin, Kyle serves as Production Coordinator for Kansas City Baroque Consortium, Director of Development for Appalachia: A Southeastern Wind Symphony, and manages and produces his podcast entitled “Pay to Play.” He has been the recipient of numerous grants as both an individual artist and collaborator. Recent examples include two ArtsKC Inspiration Grants, a Cultural Initiatives Grant through the City of Austin, and a Rocket Grant through the Charlotte Street Foundation, the Spencer Museum of Art, and the Andy Warhol Foundation.

He holds degrees from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, The University of Texas-Austin, Peabody Conservatory, and East Tennessee State University. Kyle is a D’Addario Reserve Clinician and Rovner Ambassador.

Timothy Jones

Tim Jones is a virtuosic concert pianist celebrated for his emotive performances. Born in Delaware, Tim’s journey with the piano began at the age of six, under the tutelage of Brenda Bruce. His talent quickly blossomed, leading him to study at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University, where he honed his technique and developed an affinity for the classical and romantic composers, particularly Chopin and Beethoven. Beyond the classical and romantic repertoire, Tim is known for his adventurous spirit, often collaborating with artists from diverse genres, which brings a refreshing dynamism to his performances.

Tim’s career has been marked by prestigious accolades, including first prize at the 2017 MTNA National Young Artists Competition, which led to successful debut recitals in Florida and at Lincoln Center. He is currently finishing his DMA at the University of Texas at Austin studying with Anton Nel.
