About Beatle Madness + The Rewinders
  • In 2001, the orchestra's second year, Maestro Jeff Reed hand picked and assembled the musicians that make up the band known as The Rewinders.
  • His goal was to faithfully replicate The Beatles' music in the orchestra's first ever pops show, which eventually led to the creation of the Orchestra’s Retro Series.
  • The Rewinders and (then named) Bowling Green Chamber Orchestra debuted Beatle Madness at the Capitol Theater in August 2001. They had a modest but enthusiastic turnout.
  • The following year the word was out and they played two sold out nights at the larger Van Meter auditorium on WKU's campus.
  • Beatlemadness became a yearly tradition for six years before taking a break while focusing on an already expanding roster of Pops themed shows, including Motown, 70’s, Country and the British Invasion.
  • In 2005, the Rewinders were invited to perform Beatle Madness at Charleston, South Carolina's annual Piccolo Spoleto Festival finale concert with Jeff Reed as guest conductor of the Charleston Symphony. Two years later they became the first act in the festival's history to be asked back a second time.
  • The Rewinders lineup has remained largely intact since its first year, with only two retiring original members being replaced: Adrian Heil has taken over for Ernie Raymer on Keyboards and Webb Hendrix replaces Kevin Lovelace on drums.
  • The rest of the performers you'll see on stage tonight are the same familiar faces you’ve known since our first show 22 years ago: Jon Crosby, Kevin Snyder, Bhrett Puckett, John McCracken, and Dave Allen, as well as our honorary Rewinder, Kimmy Stofer on piano.
