T. Earl Hinton Music Hall, Wright Music Building
Crafting this program, I've interwoven the threads of my journey at MTSU. Transferring to a foreign country amidst the pandemic in 2020, I grappled with fears and insecurities, striving to maintain a facade while navigating unfamiliar terrain. Throughout this journey, imposter syndrome frequently loomed, casting doubt on my abilities and stifling my productivity and creativity. Thanks to the guidance of various professors and mentors at the MTSU School of Music, I've discovered a sense of growth, belonging, and purpose. I welcome you to embark on this journey with me through this carefully curated program celebrating the diversity of composers and their works, as we contemplate a myriad of musical expressions while reflecting on similar themes of struggle and resilience.
-Ezekiel Thompson
