Biography

Katarina Maja Sams is a second year master's in flute performance student at Shenandoah Conservatory. A student of Julietta Curenton, Katarina is a recipient of the Leslie M. Watada Scholarship and is a graduate assistant in crew support. She plays in the Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, Flute Ensemble, Chamber Ensemble, and last semester she played in EDGE Ensemble. Katarina is also the president and social media liaison of the ShenCo Flute Club.

A native of Zagreb, Croatia, Katarina grew up in Geneva, Switzerland. She studied flute with Florence Dubrez and played in the regional Les Vents Blancs flute orchestra. She was a student of Kathryn Levy at Wake Forest University where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts in music performance degree with honors and graduated Cum Laude.
