Biography

Jonathan Margrave is a senior vocal performance major from Fredericksburg, Virginia. Jonathan is in the studio of Dr. Melissa Jean Chávez. An active collaborative artist in Winchester and the surrounding areas, Jonathan is the bass section leader for the Arts Chorale of Winchester, the church music intern at Trinity Episocpal Church in Upperville, Virginia, and bass section leader and staff soloist for the Chancel Choir of Trinity Episcopal Church in Upperville, Virginia. Awarded credentials include being a two-time first place winner in the Virginia NATS Collegiate Level Competition (Category 8A winner in 2024 and Category 8B winner in 2025), Honors in the Mid-Atlantic NATS/National NATS Qualifier, bass soloist for Mozart’s Coronation Mass in C Major with the Arts Chorale of Winchester, and baritone soloist for Gabriel Faure’s Requiem with the Arts Chorale of Winchester. Jonathan is excited to announce that in the fall he will begin pursuing his Master of Music in classical voice at The Manhattan School of Music where he will be studying under esteemed tenor and teacher, Gioacchino (Jack) LiVigni. He would like to thank his friends, teachers, family, and parents for their continued love and support as he pursues his dreams!
