The Shenandoah Conservatory Saxophone Ensemble is composed of undergraduate and graduate saxophone majors from Shenandoah Conservatory in Winchester, Virginia. Dedicated to both artistry and engagement, the ensemble’s mission is to entertain audiences while cultivating the artistic and intellectual growth of its members within an academic setting.
The ensemble has appeared in concerts and masterclasses with a distinguished roster of international guest artists visiting Shenandoah Conservatory, including Claude Delangle, Philippe Geiss, Mario Marzi, Jean-Michel Goury, Jean-Yves Formeau, Derek Brown, Lars Mlekusch, Raaf Hekkema, Mariano Garcia, Esneider Valencia Hernandez and Alfonso Padilla.
The Shenandoah Conservatory Saxophone Ensemble was among a select number of groups worldwide to receive a full scholarship to perform at the World Saxophone Congress in Zagreb, Croatia. Most recently, the ensemble completed its second international tour, performing in Seville, Spain, and Paris, France, during the summer of 2023. In addition to its international engagements, the group maintains an active performance schedule throughout Northern Virginia and the Shenandoah Valley.
