Program Notes

Kathryn Schumacher is a sophomore voice student pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree. Her portion of this evening’s program explores womanhood in its many forms, honoring the joys, challenges, strength and sense of community that shape the experience of being a woman. From the introspective vulnerability and quiet resilience of The Heart of a Woman to the bold declaration of power and autonomy in What Happens When a Woman, this repertoire reflects the richness and complexity of female identity.
