Joshua Eaves/LAEV

Biography

Singer-songwriter, arranger, keyboardist and contemporary singing voice specialist Joshua Eaves fuses R&B, pop, gospel and twenty-first-century classical influences to create a distinct style marked by warm melodies, lush harmonies, buttery-smooth vocals and comforting delivery. Think Leslie Odom, Jr., meets Brandy meets Eric Whitacre. As a passionate and multifaceted artist-educator, Eaves aims to connect with others through authentic, vulnerable, culture-informed artistry.

As a ’90s kid growing up in Providence, Kentucky, Eaves was no stranger to neon windbreaker joggers (the ones that make that swoosh sound), FILAS, caramel apple pops, Fruitopia and unique urban haircut designs. During Christmas of 1994, Eaves was gifted his first keyboard—a Casio on which he began arranging variations of ’90s top-40 radio hits. Soon, his beautiful, intuitive late mother Drucilla sought out a piano teacher for little Joshua, jumpstarting his pursuit of artistry.

At Shenandoah Conservatory, Eaves is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Musical Arts in Pedagogy (Contemporary Commercial Music – CCM Voice) program, with intentions to obtain his D.M.A. in spring 2027. He earned a Master of Music degree in vocal pedagogy from Belmont University in 2016 and a Bachelor of Arts degree in music industry from Kentucky Wesleyan College in 2013.

Eaves possesses performance and instructional experience that spans from humble beginnings at his Western Kentucky hometown church to various concert settings and universities throughout the United States. Follow his journey on social media @j.eavesnotevans.
