Jonathan Newman (b. 1972)

In fourteen variations on a musical theater song by Broadway phenom Jason Robert Brown, JRB’s brilliant 11 o’clock number varies not only in typical concert variation manipulations, but also in harmonic language and musical styles—with a few variations designed as nods to the specific compositional styles of close friends—or to unique characteristics of my very musical family. For JRB fans like me, ‘It all fades away but you.’
