Biography

Katarina Maja Sams is a first year master's in flute performance student at Shenandoah Conservatory. A student of Julietta Curenton, Katarina is a recipient of the Leslie M. Watada Scholarship and is a graduate assistant in crew support. She plays in the Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, Flute Ensemble, and last semester she played in the EDGE Ensemble. Katarina is also the president and social media liaison of the newly founded ShenCo Flute Club.

A native of Zagreb, Croatia, Katarina grew up in Geneva, Switzerland. She studied flute with Florence Dubrez and played in the regional Les Vents Blancs flute orchestra. She was  a student of  Kathryn Levy at Wake Forest University where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance degree with honors and graduated Cum Laude.

Katarina Maja Sams is from the studio of Julietta Curenton. This recital is presented in partial fulfillment of the requirements for a Master of Music in Performance (Flute).
