About the Show

Siblings and frequent VT performers Casey and Kiley Berkery star in this contemporary musical about the relationship between a brother and a sister … and a mother and her son. Exploring themes of love, healing and letting go, john & jen follows the lives of the title characters from the 1950s through the 1990s, taking a close look at the complexities of familial relationships in a changing America. It is a story that resonates with theatre-goers of all ages and stages in life.

The show premiered off-Broadway in 1995 and was revived in 2015 for a 20th anniversary production. With music by Andrew Lippa (You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, Wild Party, Big Fish) lyrics by Tom Greenwald, and a book by Greenwald and Lippa, John & Jen is a favorite of contemporary musical theatre lovers.

Entertainment Weekly said of the 2015 revival, "The warmth of John & Jen wraps around you like a blanket."
