Two Sisters and a Piano was first commissioned as a radio play for McCarter Theatre by WNYC's The Radio Stage, Sarah Montague, Director.

It was expanded into a full-length play, developed in part with the support of The Sundance Institute Laboratory and premiered at McCarter Theatre Center, Emily Mann, Artistic Director; Jeffrey Woodward, Managing Director.

It was subsequently produced by South Coast Repertory, David Emmes, Production Artistic Director; Martin Benson, Artistic Director, and given its New York premiere at the Joseph Papp Public Theater, George C.
