Broadway Comes Home

AKRON, OH – Weathervane Playhouse proudly presents Broadway Comes Home: Marcus M. Martin in Concert on Saturday, August 23, 2025 — a special fundraising event benefiting the Weathervane Musical Theatre Company (WMTC) Scholarship Fund. WMTC is a pre-professional musical theatre training program for students interested in a career in the performing arts.

Akron native Marcus M. Martin -- now a standby Genie in Broadway’s Aladdin and former star of the show's North American tour -- returns to the Weathervane stage where his theatrical journey began. Reflecting on his roots, Marcus shares: “Weathervane is really where I fell in love with theater. That’s where I perfected my craft, and that really prepared me for where I am now.”

Joining Marcus is Jarred Lee is a New York City–based music director and vocal coach whose work spans Broadway, national tours, Off-Broadway, and regional theatre. His Broadway credits include Back to the Future, The Prom, On the Twentieth Century, Something Rotten!, and American Psycho. Additional credits include the national tour of Hello, Dolly!, Off-Broadway’s Brooklynite, and regional productions such as A Jolly Holiday at Paper Mill Playhouse and The Preacher’s Wife at the Alliance Theatre. Dedicated to storytelling through music, Jarred continues to collaborate with artists and productions across the country. Follow his journey on Instagram: @jayradlee.
