A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR

It takes a village and thanks to the support from the NYYS Village: Our new Executive Director, John Kilkenny, the amazing administration, board, coaches and all the parents, I have the privilege to mentor these extraordinary young artists who continue to inspire through their dedication, and  creativity as artists and human beings. Join me tonight in celebrating these musicians who are communicating through this deeply human musical art form. From the bottom of my heart, I believe they all make a difference  and the world a better place. To quote Plato, “Music and rhythm find their way into the secret places of the soul.“ And Bernstein  “This will be our reply to violence: to make music more intensely, more beautifully, more devotedly than ever before.”
