Ney’s awards include a nomination for the United Nations World Culture Humanitarian Award in the Arts. He has recorded and performed with Jazz Icons including drum  legend Dennis Chambers, Scott Ambush (Spyro Gyra), Gary Grainger (John Scofield. P Funk). His influential performer and composer career path spans over 4 decades. Ney is also active as an educator and author (Maximum Speed Picking with Ney Mello- DVD set). Ney has composed  incidental music for the first IRON MAN film with Robert Downey Jr and Gwyneth Paltrow. In 2014 Ney was  commissioned to write a concerto for 3 guitars and orchestra, by the Boston Berklee College of Music’s Neapolitan Chamber Orchestra.
