THE QUINLAN SINGERS, chorus
The Quinlan Singers is a professional choir founded by Dr. Gloria Quinlan in August 2024. In January 2025, the choir debuted as a part of the "We Will March On: Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr." celebration in Austin Texas, along with world renowned bass-baritone Donnie Ray Albert.
The mission of the choir includes performance, support, and education. While the choir's emphasis is on the choral works, solo spirituals and art songs of Black Americans, it also performs the standard western classical repertoire.
The choir will commission works by Black American composers and other composers of color to stimulate and support creativity in this artistic space. The choir will serve as an ambassador for these artistic treasures.
The choir will provide performance opportunities for underrepresented talented singers of color. The choir will provide educational outreach to young students in various school programs to create a sense of value and pride in the choral music of African Americans.
