Ben Mackel is an actor, composer, and singer-songwriter currently living just outside of Asheville, North Carolina. As an actor, he has worked regionally in theater and film, including with NC Stage, Flat Rock Playhouse, and Florida Studio Theatre. As a composer, his musicals have been produced at Barter Theatre, HART, South Carolina Children’s Theatre, and Flat Rock Playhouse. As a singer-songwriter, he toured extensively with the harmony-driven string band The Blue Eyed Bettys, and he has a solo project known as Threadbare. Ben recently founded Be Young. A Theatre Collective in Asheville. This marks his 22nd year collaborating with Barter, and he is always overjoyed to keep coming back.
