Stephen Schellhardt (he/him) is thrilled to be back at the Barter Theatre after directing last summer’s hit musical Footloose. Stephen is a Joseph Jefferson Award-winning director as well as actor, choreographer, producer, and theatre educator living in Chicago, IL. Some of his recent directing credits include A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder at Porchlight Music Theatre, Chicago (Jeff Nomination – Best Director), Queer Eye: The Musical Parody (Second City Chicago), Big Fish (Jeff Award Recipient – Best Director), Urinetown (Jeff Nomination – Best Director), Dogfight (Jeff Nomination - Best Choreography) at BoHo Theatre in Chicago where he served as Artistic Director for six years, Greater Tuna (Timberlake Playhouse), Songs for a New World at Rockford University and You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. Stephen is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Drama and a member of the Actors Equity Association. His favorite roles to date, though, are proud husband and adoring father.
