Stephen Schellhardt (he/him) is a Joseph Jefferson Award winning director as well as actor, choreographer, producer and theatre educator residing in Chicago. Recent Barter credits include directing The Wizard of Oz and last summer’s hit musical Footloose, as well as Cry It Out (Mitchell). Chicago directing credits include A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder at Porchlight Music Theatre Chicago (Jeff Nomination – Best Director), Queer Eye: The Musical Parody (Second City Chicago), Big Fish (Jeff Award Recipient – Best Director), Urinetown (Jeff Nomination – Best Director), Dogfight (Jeff Nomination - Best Choreography) at BoHo Theatre in Chicago where he served as Artistic Director for six years, Greater Tuna (Timberlake Playhouse), Songs for a New World at Rockford University and You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown at Northwestern University. Stephen has been on faculty at Northwestern University, Rockford University and spent three years as the Head of Music Theatre at The Chicago College of Performing Arts. He is a proud graduate of Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Drama and a member of the Actors Equity Association.
