Collaborative pianist and voice coach Thomas Getty returns to Opera on the James for his 14th season as the head of the Tyler Young Artists Program. He was a fixture on the music staff of Central City Opera in Colorado for over 25 years and has also coached for Utah Opera and Anchorage Opera, where he was also chorus master and Associate Artistic Director. Recently he coached the young artists of Cedar Rapids Opera for their main stage production of Massenet’s Cinderella; he recently returned to Cedar Rapids for their production of Johann Strauss’ Die Fledermaus.
