Virgil Moore began violin studies at the age of nine, and immediately fell in love with music, studying with Joseph Nigro and Dr. Yevgeniy Dovgalyuk. Virgil’s most influential collaborations have included performances alongside Stefan Jackiw, Jessie Montgomery, Paul Watkins, and Xavier Foley. He has worked extensively with the New World Symphony in Miami Beach, has held a Principal Chair in The Juilliard Orchestra, and has performed professionally with the New York Philharmonic, Princeton Symphony, and Symphony in C. Virgil was a semi-finalist in the 2024 Sphinx Competition in Detroit. He was winner of the 2023 Townsend School of Music Concerto Competition and the 2017 LSYO Concerto Competition. Mr. Moore is currently pursuing a master’s degree at The Juilliard School on a full-tuition scholarship, in the studios of Laurie Smukler and Joseph Lin. Virgilmooreviolin.com
