Joel Fenster is excited to be returning to Monkswell Manor for a second visit after his first one back in 2007 (The Mousetrap was the first show he ever directed at Curtain Call). This is Joel’s thirty fifth show since 2001 and his tenth Agatha Christie mystery (although maybe eighth since two are repeats). Previous Christie mysteries include Go Back for Murder (Darien Players), Spider’s Web (Westport Community Theater), Black Coffee (Carriage House Arts Center), And Then There Were None, The Unexpected Guest, Murder on the Orient Express, and A Murder is Announced (Curtain Call). Not to be stuck in a box of his own making, Joel has also directed a diverse group of other shows in the area including Book of Days, Noises Off, Sly Fox, and Julius Caesar (Darien Players), The Cat’s Meow (Eastbound Theater), The Music Man and Fiddler on the Roof (Downtown Cabaret Theater), Poseidon: An Upside Down Musical, Disaster, Chess, and The Cluesual Suspects (Carriage House Arts Center), The SpongeBob Musical (Fairfield Center Stage) Pippin, City of Angels, When We Are Married, Accomplice, and The Addams Family (Curtain Call). He’d like to thank the amazing cast and crew of The Mousetrap for all their hard work, talent, dedication, and patience. But most importantly, he’d like to thank his mishpocha for putting up with his mishegas every moment of every day (Tash, Mac, The D-Man, Einstein, and Midge). Next up: Who knows?
