Eduardo Rios, the First Assistant Concertmaster of the Seattle Symphony, is an accomplished violinist and the winner of the prestigious 2015 Sphinx Competition. Originally from Lima, Peru, Eduardo's musical journey began at the age of ten when he first picked up the violin. He quickly showed immense talent, making his solo debut with the National Symphony Orchestra of Peru at just fourteen years old.
Eduardo's passion for music led him to the United States, where he made his U.S. debut with the Houston Symphony in 2015. His performances have continued to captivate audiences across the country, and he has been featured as a soloist with renowned orchestras such as the Nashville Symphony, Charlotte Symphony, Seattle Symphony, Orchestra of the Americas, Colburn Orchestra, and the National Repertory Orchestra.
Prior to his role with the Seattle Symphony, Eduardo served as a Resident Fellow with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, further solidifying his reputation as a sought-after violinist. His exceptional talent has also led him to guest Concertmaster positions, notably with the Nashville Symphony during their 2022-23 season.
Eduardo's musical education includes studying under Laszlo Benedek at the National Conservatory of Peru. He then had the privilege of being mentored by the renowned pedagogue Robert Lipsett, earning his Bachelor of Music and Artist Diploma from the esteemed Colburn Conservatory of Music in Los Angeles.
