Samuel Gorden

Only three years ago, Sam picked up the trombone for the first time. Thanks to the guidance of Tina Holcombe at Chattanooga Homeschool Band, his passion for the instrument grew. With dedication and lessons from Dr. Doug Warner, Sam's skills improved rapidly. Now, after two years playing for the CYS, he is thrilled to be finishing his high school years as the principal trombone player.

Not only is Sam a talented trombonist, but he also showcases his musical skills on the piano and as a Bass 2 vocalist. From performing in the Hilger choir to making appearances at events like the Candlelight Processional at Disney World, Sam has proven himself to be a versatile and passionate musician. He has also been a member of the Lee Honor Choir, church praise team and choir, and received prestigious recognitions such as being selected for All Eastern Tennessee in 2022 and 2023, as well as TMEA All State choirs in 2023 and 2024.

While his parents and 5 siblings will miss having him home, we are thrilled to share that Sam will be starting his journey at Lee University this fall as a Worship Arts major with a vocal emphasis. We are excited to see him flourish and nurture his passion for music and worship. Sam's dedication and talents make us proud, and we can't wait to witness all the incredible achievements that await him in the future.

Sam, as you embark on this new chapter in your life, always remember to keep God's word close to your heart and seek Him always. We believe in you and know that God has amazing plans in store for you. We love you so much and are cheering you on every step of the way! “Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:8-9
