Harrison Wells has been in the CYS for five years, first as a percussionist and then for the last three years as the principal trumpet. During his time with the CYS, he has enjoyed playing in various brass chamber ensembles, serving on the Members Advisory Council, and trying to help make the CYS a place to thrive. Harrison has participated in All-East and All-State bands and orchestras for three years, as well as attended the Sewanee Summer Music Festival last summer. He regularly plays gigs at churches and has played for several local musical theatre productions. His primary teachers included Tina Erickson and Nathan Warner, as well as Terry Schwartz most recently. In addition to playing trumpet, for many years Harrison has sung with the Chattanooga Boys Choir and danced with Chattanooga Ballet. He is extremely grateful for his time in the CYS and wishes to thank all the students who pushed themselves to make great music and community together, as well as the following individuals through whom he learned so much: Gary Wilkes, Sandy Morris, Christian Pagnard, Erika Schafer, Brian Reichenbach, Stephanie Pearson, Robert Esposito, and of course Ismael Sandoval. After graduating from homeschooling, Harrison will attend college next year to pursue a major in trumpet performance.
