Elizabeth Palumbo is an 18-year-old soprano known for her talent, positivity, and spirit. She began her musical journey at the age of 10 in the suburbs of New Jersey and, by 12, discovered a deep love for opera after seeing The Magic Flute. This sparked her path to becoming an opera singer. A recent graduate of the prestigious Interlochen Arts Academy, Elizabeth portrayed a range of notable roles, including Musetta in Puccini's "La Bohème", Hexe in Humperdinck’s "Hänsel und Gretel", and Mrs. Keeps in the World premiere of Bill Banfield’s Edmonia. She has also performed alongside the Traverse City Opera Company and the Detroit Opera Theatre during her time at Interlochen. Elizabeth has earned two prestigious awards from Interlochen: the Joseph Summer Maddy Award (the program’s highest honor) and the Fine Arts Award. She is currently a freshman at Northwestern University, where she studies under renowned soprano Nancy Gustafson. Over the past three years, Elizabeth has achieved remarkable success in vocal competitions. She was a finalist in the 2022 Schmidt Vocal Competition in Boston, a two-time regional winner in 2023, and a national finalist in the summer of 2024 at the Sarasota Opera House. Elizabeth’s passion for music shows through her performances, as she aims to share her gift with the world.
