Carter Reynolds
Flute

Carter Reynolds is currently a senior at the University of North Texas studying flute performance under Professor Terri Sundberg.  Recent ensemble experiences include the UNT Symphony Orchestra in 2024-2025, UNT Concert Orchestra throughout the 2021-2022 and 2023-2024 academic years, and the UNT Wind Orchestra throughout the 2022-2023 academic year. He is also a National Merit Scholar and member of the UNT Honors College, where he is pursuing a double major in flute performance and music education.
In recent years, Carter has attended numerous summer festivals, competitions, and conferences, including Eastern Music Festival in 2024, the UNT Conductors Collegium in 2023, and Rocky Ridge Chamber Music festival in 2022. He has won several competitions such as the 2024 Eastern Music Festival Concerto Competition and the 2022 NFA Masterclass Performers Competition; as a winner of the NFA Masterclass competition, he participated in a public masterclass given by Bonita Boyd at the 2022 National Flute Association Convention in Chicago. In Fall 2023 he advanced to the Woodwind Semifinals in the UNT Concerto Competition, and in 2024 he performed the Martin Ballade with the Eastern Music Festival orchestra as a soloist and winner of the EMF Concerto Competition.
After graduating from UNT, Carter plans to pursue graduate study in flute performance and conducting, as well as organize and conduct autonomous ensembles.
