Amir, a second-generation musician, chose the horn to pursue a career in professional orchestras, inspired by his mother, Elmira Sharipova, a violinist in the National Orchestra of Uzbekistan for 25 years. His early exposure to the orchestral world ignited his ambition, leading to performances at renowned international venues such as Boston Symphony Hall, Vienna Musikverein Golden Hall, Esplanade Concert Hall, and Hong Kong City Hall.
Amir's dedication to mastering the horn surpassed the 10,000-hour milestone, beginning with his musical education in Uzbekistan and continuing through a bachelor's degree at NUS in Singapore under Jamie Hersch's mentorship. As a student, he freelanced with Singapore Symphony Orchestra, Metropolitan Festival Orchestra in Singapore, National Symphony Orchestra in Uzbekistan, Penang Philharmonic Orchestra in Malaysia, Orchestra of Music Makers, and Irkutsk Philharmonic Orchestra in Russia. Amir also participated in international music festivals like the Chofu International Music Festival (Japan) and Grafenegg Academy Orchestra (Austria), and Music System Italy (Italy).
In 2022, he received a full scholarship to pursue a graduate degree at Boston University under the mentorship of renowned horn player Eric Ruske. Currently, he is pursuing his master’s degree in orchestral studies at the Tianjin Juilliard School, enhancing his musical expertise for a promising career on the global stage.
