Stan grew up in Dobbs Ferry NY, and started playing the Double Bass at the age of 7. Stan proceeded to take bass lessons from his orchestra teacher, David Hertzberg, all throughout elementary school and performed occasionally at his church. Things started to get more serious for Stan at age 11, when he enrolled at Hoff-Barthelson School of Music in Scarsdale, NY. At Hoff-Barthelson, Stan took various music classes and eventually joined their esteemed Festival Orchestra. Stan continued his studies at Hoff-Barthelson up until the Summer of 2019, when he attended the Eastern Music Festival in Greensboro, NC. There, Stan met Rick Ostrovsky, who would go on to teach him privately throughout highschool. Stan auditioned and was accepted into the New York Youth Symphony in Fall 2019. With NYYS, Stan was able to play with college-level musicians for the first time. Furthermore, Stan had numerous chances to perform in Carnegie hall, which gave him valuable experience. Stan auditioned and was accepted into Bard Conservatory in 2020. First studying with Jeremy McCoy and then Satoshi Okamoto at Bard, Stan’s capabilities as a musician have flourished to an extent he used to dream of.
