Martha Mulcahy began playing the viola at the age of 6, and has cultivated her love for performance, collaboration and education ever since. She is a passionate performer of new music and advocate for expanding the classical canon. She completed her Bachelor of Music at the Cleveland Institute of Music with majors in viola performance and music theory where she graduated at the top of her class, and is currently pursuing her master’s degree in viola performance at the University of Michigan on a generous full-tuition merit scholarship. Her teachers include Caroline Coade, Jeffrey Irvine, Lynne Ramsey, and Elizabeth Cregan.
